Bases: Exception

Raised when a canvas holds a shape the renderer cannot write.

Derived from Exception, not BaseException. A BaseException walks straight through every except Exception between here and the top - including the one the notebook widget uses to turn a failure into a message the user can see - so rendering from a GUI would have failed with nothing said anywhere. The constructor was also spelt __initi__, so the message never reached the exception at all.
